For over 60 years, Atlific Hotels has continually led the hospitality industry in operational acumen, and has been recognized by Hotelier Magazine as “Company of the Year” and a “Top 50 Shining Star.”

Most Recently

In the fall of 2020, we successfully open Dakota Dunes Resort, Saskatoon’s first full-service resort experience located on traditional Whitecap Dakota Unceded Territory. In the fall of 2021, we take on management of Le Westin Tremblant Resort & Spa in Tremblant, Quebec.

The 2010s

We rank top 50 performing hotel management companies, add more hotels to our portfolio and introduce yet another new brand to Canadians – Element by Westin. Our Marriott partnership continues with the opening of the largest Residence Inn in the world in Calgary’s downtown Beltline District – the Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary Downtown/Beltline District.

The 2000s

These are significant growth years for our company and include bringing in new brands to Canada – Indigo by IHG – and opening new hotels - Walnut Beach Resort in Osoyoos, Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour and Le Westin Montreal. We also celebrate 50 years in the business.

In the 90s

Our Canadian expansion continues from Montreal and Winnipeg to London, Ottawa and Toronto Airport. A new partnership is born when Atlific Hotels is sold to Ocean Properties in the summer of 1997.

In the 80s

We continue expanding our portfolio and shift our focus from ownership to the day-to-day management of our hotels. In one day we add Ontario Venture Inn Hotels – a total of 16 hotels. On yet another day we onboard Quebec chain Auberges des Gouverneurs – a total of 12 hotels. We split from Wendy’s restaurants and become Atlific Hotels, building a reputation as an industry leader.

In the 70s

We bring Wendy’s restaurants to Canada, build and operate over 75 of them. Atlific Restaurant Limited takes management of 15 dining establishments in downtown Toronto’s TD Centre. Spring of 1974 ushers the ground breaking of Atlific Inns Inc.’s new corporate headquarters in St. Laurent, Quebec.

In the 60s

We introduce the Holiday Inn brand to Canadians with the 1st international Holiday Inn, located in Le Chateaubriand, Montreal. In the late 60s the Holiday Inn Montreal Downtown – the largest Holiday Inn at the time – opens just in time for Expo ‘67.
