Atlific Hotels Bolsters its Toronto Portfolio with a Brand New Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites

December 3, 2007 – Cited for its success in overseeing a broad range of business and leisure hotels across Canada, Atlific Hotels has been selected to manage the brand new Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites opening in Vaughan, Ontario in April, 2008.

This 125-room property, located on the northwest corner of Highway 7 and Highway 27 has a striking design, providing a wonderful option for Greater Toronto Area business and leisure travellers looking for superior amenities at an affordable price. The hotel also offers meeting space for up to 150 people.

“Atlific now operates 35 hotels across Canada and is growing rapidly with eight new properties slated to open by the end of 2008,” said Philippe Gadbois, Senior Vice President, Atlific Hotels. “Our management experience, combined with a strong presence in Toronto and the recent opening of Canada's first Hotel Indigo in Ottawa, made us an obvious choice to manage this new property. We look forward to introducing the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Vaughan to our discriminating guests.”

With new corporate business parks, event venues, shopping and leisure activities in close proximity to this hotel, guests can take advantage of the myriad offerings in the City of Vaughan and nearby Toronto and Brampton.

Both the impressive lobby and Great Room are finished with cherry wood, imported tiles and dramatic carpet in a chic colour scheme of warm earthy tones such as chocolate brown, tan and olive green. With a spectacular double-sided fireplace and unique display of wild field grasses, the Great Room provides a perfect location to unwind, or enjoy complimentary breakfast - and it can be sanctioned off for private functions.

Guestrooms and suites feature upscale touches including spacious bathrooms with imported tile floors, granite counter tops, and Kohler fixtures. All units feature contemporary furniture, large LCD flat screen televisions, and pristine white bedding.

Careful consideration was taken at time of development to find ways to make this new Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites an industry leader for energy efficiency. Intelligent motion sensing thermostats automatically adjust the temperature in guest rooms, common areas and meeting facilities when not in use. Instantaneous hot water heaters eliminate the need for oversize water tanks known to waste large amounts of electricity. An ‘Energy Recovery Unit’ captures energy from exhausted air and redistributes that energy back into common areas such as corridors.

The inviting indoor pool area features an Energy Recycler Dehumidifier which lowers the amount of energy consumption. All exterior windows in the hotel were tinted to a low “e” rating and PTAC heaters provide heat via condensing hydronic boilers rather than the less efficient traditional electric heating.

The hotel also boasts higher ceilings and wider corridors than average creating an open and bright environment. With a spacious lobby, indoor pool, exceptional business amenities, choice of rooms or suites and guest laundry facilities. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Vaughan will be an excellent and comfortable choice for all guests.

February 5, 2007 – InterContinental Hotels Group [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)] (IHG), the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms, announced today that its eighth Hotel Indigo will open this week in Ottawa, Canada. Situated in Ottawa's bustling central business district and just four blocks from Parliament Hill, this 106-room hotel is Hotel Indigo's first property in Canada

Located at the corner of Laurier Avenue West and Metcalfe Street, Hotel Indigo Ottawa is a conversion of a historic 1900s building that once served as a community YMCA. The six-story property is owned by Gillin Engineering & Construction Limited and managed by Atlific Hotels.

“As the Canadian capital, Ottawa is an important government center as well as a vibrant leisure and business destination with a distinct culture, which is a perfect fit for Hotel Indigo,” said Jim Anhut, senior vice president, Brand Development, the Americas, InterContinental Hotels Group. “We are proud to introduce this exciting branded boutique concept to Canada and believe it will quickly become a centerpiece of Ottawa's downtown community.”

This winter, visitors and residents alike can take advantage of the hotel's close proximity to the Rideau Canal, which is central to life in Ottawa. The new hotel will open just in time for Ottawa's famed Winterlude, one of North America's largest winter festivals centered on the world's longest outdoor skating rink. Whether visiting Canada's capital for the first time or reliving childhood memories on the Rideau Canal, Hotel Indigo's inviting lobby makes it a perfect respite for travelers and city dwellers alike.

Providing stylish accommodations and a personalized service experience in a unique and intimate atmosphere, Hotel Indigo Ottawa is a branded boutique hotel designed to appeal to lifestyle-focused guests who desire affordable luxury, genuine service and an alternative to traditional hotels.

Renewal is the soul of Hotel Indigo's retail-inspired design concept — thoughtful changes are made throughout the year to keep the hotel fresh, similar to the way retailers change their window displays. The renewal concept provides even the most frequent guest a unique experience with every stay. Hotel Indigo's guestrooms feature signature murals, area rugs, and duvets and slip covers that will change periodically, while public spaces will be transformed seasonally through changing artwork, murals and directional signage. As Canada's first Hotel Indigo, the Ottawa hotel's “opening season” murals will feature winter wonder intermingled with striking murals of birch trees, wheat fields and irises, showcasing some of Canada's most recognizable natural offerings.

Other signature Hotel Indigo design elements include cozy, airy and inviting guestrooms with plush bedding; hardwood-style flooring and spa-inspired glass showers. Hotel Indigo Ottawa offers free high-speed internet access in all guestrooms and wireless in the public spaces. In addition, there are four meeting rooms, the largest room at 1200 sq.-ft. will seat up to 130 attendees, two smaller rooms seat from 45-60 people and there is also a permanent boardroom for up to 8 participants. Rounding out the offering for lifestyle-focused guests is a full fitness center complete with indoor swimming pool.

Whether guests desire a quick bite before a meeting or a full meal after a day of sightseeing, Hotel Indigo Ottawa offers guests exactly what they need. Phi, a gourmet fast casual restaurant refreshingly brings the unique Hotel Indigo approach to breakfast, lunch and dinner. With an emphasis on ever changing seasonal ingredients Phi offers both starters and entrees that tempt. A visit to Phi should always include a decadent cup of Starbuck's coffee, latte or cappuccino. In the evening, guests can enjoy their favorite beverage in casual elegance at Phi.

“Hotel Indigo perfectly combines the unique attributes of a small boutique hotel with the consistency of service and amenities you expect from a traditional hotel,” said John C. Dunn, vice president, Sales & Marketing, Atlific Hotels. “We're excited to be involved in the launch of this fresh, new hotel concept in Canada. Our branded boutique hotel fits well within this market and will create a superior hospitality experience for business and leisure travelers.”
