Michael Walsh is President of Ocean Properties, Ltd. and has been actively
involved in the business since his graduation from the University of Maine
at Orono in 1975. He has been an integral part of building Ocean Properties
into one of the more significant hotel companies in North America. Michael's
areas of expertise lie in operations, franchise relations and property
refurbishment. He is a member of the franchise advisory committees for
both Marriott International and Holiday Inn and is actively involved in
numerous charitable organizations.
Vice-President Operations, Ocean Properties, Ltd. (Delray Beach,
Florida)
Andy Berger has been with Ocean Properties for over twenty years. He began
his career in operations starting with front office to food & beverage
management advancing to sales & marketing department then to various
General Manager positions. Andy is now Vice-President Operations of Ocean
Properties, Ltd. He has been involved in the development and acquisition
of over thirty hotels from new builds and conversions to management take-overs.
Andy's focus is in acquisitions and the continued expansion of the company.
Executive Vice-President, Atlific Inc. (Portsmouth, New Hampshire)
Richard Ade has held the position of Executive Vice-President and Chief
Financial Officer at Ocean Properties since 1994. He is a graduate of
Bentley College and began his public accounting career in 1974 working
for Peat Marwick in New York City. From 1981 to 1995, Richard was the
managing partner of a certified public accounting firm in Bangor, Maine.
He is a certified public accountant in the states of Maine, New York and
Florida. Rich brings to Ocean Properties more than 15 years experience
in the hospitality industry, including financing, acquisition and project
development. He is actively involved in the Canadian market, including
the hotel projects currently in place and under development as well as
new acquisitions.
Executive Vice-President & Chief Financial Officer (Montréal,
Québec)
A member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Robert Chartrand
received his degree in Business Administration from Sherbrooke University.
Robert joined Atlific as Assistant Controller in 1983 and has since then,
been instrumental in bringing Atlific to the forefront in the hospitality
industry in terms of cost controls and standards. In 1995 he was appointed
Executive Vice-President of the Company. Robert administers the operation
of the office and is responsible for the financial planning and budgeting
as well as looking after finding new business opportunities.
Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing (Toronto, Ontario)
Philippe Gadbois brings to Atlific over 35 years of varied experience in the industry including senior positions at Realstar Hospitality Corp. and the ownership of a fully integrated hotel consulting firm. He spent 25 years with Hilton International achieving the responsibility of President and CEO of Hilton Canada Inc. Gadbois, a graduate of Université de Montréal was a Vice Chair of the Hotel Association of Canada and the founding Chairman of the Business Council for Tourism Issues.
Vice-President Operations, Eastern Canada (Montréal, Québec)
Raymond is a graduate of the Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec in Montréal in Hotel Management. He began his career in 1979 serving in various management positions for Commonwealth Hospitality across Ontario and Québec and was appointed General Manager in 1989. In 1991 he successfully opened the Montréal Downtown Holiday Inn where he won numerous Awards of Excellence. Raymond was appointed General Manager for the prestigious Montréal Château Champlain in 1995. He was instrumental in guiding this property through a successful conversion to the Montréal Marriott Château Champlain and was awarded Newcomer of the Year for the Marriott system that same year. He was named Hotelier of the Year by the Québec Hotel Association and was made President of the Montréal Hotel Association in 1998. That same year he was appointed Vice-President Operations, Eastern Canada.
Regional Operations Manager, Western Region (Vancouver, British
Columbia)
Robert Leoppky attended the University of Southern Colorado and the Southern
Alberta Institute of Technology. He is also a graduate of Holiday Inn
University and holds a certificate from the American Hotel Motel Association
as a Certified Hotel Administrator. Robert began his hospitality career
as a management trainee with Westin Hotels & Resorts. Since joining
Atlific in 1972, Robert has received the Award of Excellence and the Holiday
Inn Quality Excellence Award on six occasions as well as Food & Beverage
Director of the Year for the Holiday Inn System. Robert has served in
various management capacities with the company from St.John's Newfoundland
to Vancouver British Columbia.
Director of IT (Montréal, Québec)
Trained at IBM, Robert Dodier joined Atlific in 1967 at which time Atlific was a pioneer in the computer field. Robert was instrumental in developing various state of the art programs to handle all the company's accounting and reservation systems utilized by the independent hotels operated by Atlific. Atlific continues to be a leader in the industry in IT development.
Corporate Food & Beverage Manager (Toronto, Ontario)
A graduate of the University of Southern New Hampshire in Hospitality
Administration, Robert Hood also holds a Higher National Diploma in Hotel
Catering & Institutional Management from Birmingham College of Food,
Birmingham, UK. He received Marriott’s Quality Certified Trainer
Award in 1992, and in 1997 was elected a member of the Hotel Catering
and Institutional Management Association. Rob has had extensive experience
within many management positions in the food & beverage business ranging
from the development and design of a new restaurant concept “Blazers
Restaurant” for Moat House Hotels, UK, to new concepts for food
& beverage outlets for two of Toronto’s prestigious golf clubs
for ClubLink Corporation, to Director of Food & Beverage of the Crowne
Plaza Toronto Don Valley in 2000. In 2002 Rob was appointed Corporate
Food & Beverage Manager of Atlific Hotels & Resorts and is responsible
for F & B operations, business development, sales initiatives, cost
control, and food and beverage purchase development across Canada.
